I couldn’t say I believed all my life. Sure, I believed in my parents, what most teachers had taught me, and a few other things. But if you asked me what I thought would take me to heaven, I probably would have either said, “My good works” or “I don’t know.” I really didn’t know what to believe because I wasn’t exactly sure what I had to do to be certain I would go to heaven.

While growing up, I was told that good people go to heaven, but bad ones don’t. Since I knew I was a bad person, I figured I would probably go to hell. It wasn’t until I attended a Christian youth meeting that someone showed me why the Bible could be trusted as God’s inspired Word. The speaker used scientific facts, historical events and locations, prophecies of the Jewish nation, and prophecies of Christ from the Old Testament to convince me that the Bible was worth listening to and believing.
